Once the audit reports and SEO recommendations were completed and prioritised by Screaming Frog, we found that the main concern with UK IT Services website was the fact it needed to be completely reorganised, from the menu navigation and URL structure to orphan pages.

The biggest challenge of the project was changing the URL Structure for the service pages, as there was no hierarchy in place. A visitor may start on the home page and go deeper through a series of pages to drill down to a specific page they are looking for. If the site hierarchy makes sense, this process should be easy. But if not, the desired page may never be found – which may have been the case with UK IT Services. By improving the URL structure, we are helping users understand that there are other related services within that category.

This required a lot of attention to detail, many 301 redirects and checks to ensure there were no 404 errors left on the site. Also, when grouping services, it was important that the client was positive it was accurate and wouldn’t need further changes it in future.
