ABOUT THE CLIENT
UK IT Services help businesses in London achieve growth by taking the hassle out of their IT and proactively managing their technology. With 70+ full-time employees and stable business, it was time to enhance their web presence in hope to boost organic traffic and take their business to the next level.
THE BRIEF
We were tasked to work in partnership with Screaming Frog to develop an optimisation strategy, providing SEO recommendations and technical audit through to implementation. Helping UK IT Services to be compliant with SEO best practices and improve the relevancy and alignment of the website.
OUR CHALLENGE
Once the audit reports and SEO recommendations were completed and prioritised by Screaming Frog, we found that the main concern with UK IT Services website was the fact it needed to be completely reorganised, from the menu navigation and URL structure to orphan pages.
The biggest challenge of the project was changing the URL Structure for the service pages, as there was no hierarchy in place. A visitor may start on the home page and go deeper through a series of pages to drill down to a specific page they are looking for. If the site hierarchy makes sense, this process should be easy. But if not, the desired page may never be found – which may have been the case with UK IT Services. By improving the URL structure, we are helping users understand that there are other related services within that category.
This required a lot of attention to detail, many 301 redirects and checks to ensure there were no 404 errors left on the site. Also, when grouping services, it was important that the client was positive it was accurate and wouldn’t need further changes it in future.

THE RESULT
After the completion of the project, we found UK IT Services were at an all-time peak in their organic traffic trend, which started to increase around the same time we kickstarted the project.
This shows that taking the time to be compliant with SEO best practices is important and makes an incredible impact on rank, as well as improving the user’s journey on site.
Hollie did really well organising our website, bringing it to the highest level. We were particularly impressed with the high level of professionalism, understanding of the brief and the fast turnaround.
