ABOUT THE CLIENT
Chik Chak offers a range of services for homeowners, estate agents, landlords and other industry professionals including; photography, video, interior styling, virtual tour and floorplan/EPC options.
THE BRIEF
As appearance is at the forefront of the business, it was important that the website was visually up to scratch. Daniel, the owner of Chik Chak and master of property photography, needed a website revamp on a new platform that he could use to easily update the portfolio and showcase recent work.
OUR PROCESS
After learning about Chik Chak and considering their needs, we presented some of our ideas and suitable platforms to Daniel. We found WordPress to be the most cost-effective and easy to manage platform, with thousands of great photography themes to choose from. A challenge we came across was that most photography WordPress themes are built with freelance photographers and personal portfolios in mind. Whereas Chik Chak is a b2b organisation, offering more than just photography services. We shortlisted the best and most innovative themes, flexible enough to be able to make clear that there are many different services on offer.
Once the theme was chosen, our team custom-built the structure and layout of each page type. As Daniel is a creative and perfectionist himself, he wanted to be involved with the design and was clear he wanted it to be clean, elegant and highly visual. We like to take our customers vision and merge our expertise to provide the best possible solution.
One suggestion of improvement was to include more communicative language throughout the site. For example, instead of dull menu labels that most websites use like “services” and “industries”, they are now labelled “what we do”, and “who we work with”.
As always, we like to make sure our clients are happy throughout the whole process, so we went through around 3 revisions of the website to make it perfect.
THE RESULT
Chik Chak now have a beautiful new website they are proud to show off, with highly visual elements to showcase the great work they produce. After a short tutorial with our team, Daniel is now in full control of uploading his latest work to the portfolio.
